And of course, these teams are also those who might be trying Throw Team Mate scores or crazy risky plays, so it seems we have some synergy here too. All flavours of Elves, Amazons, Dwarves, Skaven, and now also joined by Humans, all have 50k rerolls. Every single one of these teams is likely to be Tier 1 or top of Tier 2 anyway, and now it seems they have something else going for them. Certainly, for our Elves and Skaven, the miracle turn is a fundamental part of the gameplan, so we have a natural synergy here. So who wins and loses from this change? Well, any team that has relatively cheap rerolls or that can easily build their roster with many rerolls will obviously benefit the most. Despite everyone thinking it was just a mistake on GW’s part, this single small change, missed by almost everyone when the new rules were released, and then confirmed in the errata, is probably going to have a bigger impact on the new edition of Blood Bowl than any of the other changes in the book. In this article, I’m going to take a look at three areas of the game that have received significant changes in the new edition, and give my thoughts on their tactical impact on the game. It’s been a few months since Blood Bowl Second Season Edition was released and yet, as a result of the pandemic, many people are still only taking their first tentative steps into exploring the new rules. I think it’s fair to say we still don’t really know what the BB2020 tactical meta will look like.
